MissionsWe take very seriously our commitment to participate in the Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church and frequently respond to the needs of the world wide community which it serves. Mission Chairman: David Carrol Food PantryNot only do we provide food to the Urban Ministries, which serves the greater Wichita area, but we also stock a food cabinet for those in our own immediate area. Caring MinistriesThe new Caring Ministry consists of 6 groups at this time. Each group has one or more contact persons who work the the Pastor and report back to the Pastor. United Methodist Men (HUMM)This group is open to any man who attends the church. They meet every 2nd Thursday in the months of September through May at 7:30. There are about 50 active members now who raise about $3,000 a year to take care of non-budgeted items for the church. HUMM President: Gary Gibbs United Methodist Women (UMW)Open to every woman who attends the church. Executive Meeting is on the 2nd Thursday of the month, at 5:15 p.m. September through May. Counseling/Caring/PrayersCounseling is provided by the Pastor and the Caring Ministries. Place a prayer concern on the Prayer Chain by calling the church office at (316) 524-4162. Interested persons can also become a member of the Prayer Chain. Boy Scout, Cub Scout and Girl Scout TroopsThese active groups are sponsored by our church. Many of the boys and girls have earned the God and Country Award by working with the Pastor and completing challenging projects for the church.
Ministry Teams of the ChurchBecoming a member of one of the many church committees is another opportunity for service. The ministry of our church, as well as the day-to-day operations of the church facilities, is dependent upon the membership's involvement. A wide variety of interests is represented in the following standing committees:
